Privacy Policy

Last updated: 31 May 2026

NewsPulse is operated by App Artery(“we”, “us”, “our”). This policy explains what information we do and do not process when you use NewsPulse at newspulse.app-artery.com, and your rights under UK data protection law.

We have built NewsPulse to collect as little information about you as possible. You do not need an account, and we do not track you.

Who is responsible for your information

The data controller for NewsPulse is App Artery, based in the United Kingdom. If you have any questions about this policy or your information, you can contact us at privacy@app-artery.com.

What we do not do

To be clear about the things many websites do that we deliberately do not:

  • We do not offer or require user accounts, and we do not ask you to log in.
  • We do not use analytics or audience-measurement tools.
  • We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not run third-party advertising.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for marketing.
  • We do not store any personal information about you on our own servers.

Information stored on your device

NewsPulse stores some information locally on your deviceusing your browser's storage (commonly called “localStorage”). This is used only to make the site work the way you expect — for example, remembering your reading history, bookmarks, recent searches, and your light/dark theme preference.

This information:

  • stays on your device;
  • is never transmitted to us or to any server; and
  • is used only to provide features you have chosen to use.

Because this storage is strictly necessary to provide the functionality you have asked for, it does not require a consent banner under UK privacy rules (PECR). You can clear this information at any time by clearing your browser's site data for NewsPulse, or by using your browser's private/incognito mode.

Information processed by our hosting provider

NewsPulse is delivered through a content delivery network operated by Amazon Web Services (AWS CloudFront). As part of delivering any website over the internet, standard server access logs — which can include your IP address, the time of your request, and basic technical details such as your browser type — may be processed by our hosting provider (AWS CloudFront) on our behalf.

We use this only for the ordinary operation, security, and reliability of the service. We do not use it to identify you or to build a profile of you, and we do not combine it with any other information.

Lawful basis for processing

Where any personal data is processed (such as IP addresses in server access logs), we rely on our legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) — specifically, our interest in operating, securing, and maintaining a reliable website. We have balanced this against your rights and consider the impact on your privacy to be minimal, as the information is used only for technical operation and is not used to identify or profile you.

Sharing your information

We do not share your information with any third party for their own purposes. The only third party involved is our hosting provider (AWS), which processes server access logs on our behalf as described above, acting as our data processor.

How long we keep information

We do not keep personal information about you on our own systems. Any server access logs are handled by our hosting provider as part of normal service operation. We will update this policy with specific retention details if and when we enable and configure access logging directly.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask what personal data, if any, is held about you;
  • ask for it to be corrected or erased;
  • object to or ask us to restrict its processing; and
  • lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.

Because we do not operate accounts and do not store personal data on our own servers, in most cases we will hold very little or no information that identifies you. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@app-artery.com.

Children

NewsPulse is a general news service and is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
